Before anything leaves your environment
The Economic Control Check can stay entirely inside your Azure environment — nothing reaches Metergrade. Saving a baseline is different: to keep your results over time, you choose to send us the export you produced. Here is exactly what that means, before you send anything.

What you are sending
A supported Metergrade evidence export produced from your Azure API Management telemetry by the Setup Kit. You choose the file and you upload it yourself.

What Metergrade expects
Request-level economic fields: timestamps, model and deployment identifiers, token counts, latency, status, and the workload and application identifiers that let spend be attributed to an accountable owner.

What Metergrade does not require
Prompt bodies and model response bodies are not required. Metergrade prices and grades an estate from token counts and metadata, not from the content of requests.

Prohibited content
Prompt and response bodies, message content, personal data, secrets, keys and credentials must not appear in an export.

If prohibited content is detected
The export is refused or quarantined. Metergrade does not silently strip prohibited fields and continue, because a silent strip leaves you believing something was never sent when it was.

Why this step exists
The local check can remain local because it produces a point-in-time result. A saved baseline must persist its evidence so Metergrade can compare, validate and maintain its provenance over time.
