Economic Control Check

Put your AI under economic control.

See where you stand without sending your telemetry to Metergrade.

Where the check runs

Your Azure environment
  1. Azure API ManagementYour gateway, unchanged. Metergrade never enters the request path.
  2. Log AnalyticsDiagnostics your platform team already collects.
  3. Metergrade Economic Control CheckA workbook and queries you can read, running in your own workspace.
  4. Results remain in AzureThe output is a workbook in your tenant. Nothing is transmitted to Metergrade.
No telemetry crosses this line
MetergradeReceives nothing on this path. There is no account, no credential and no upload — so there is no transfer to disclose.
No account
Nothing to sign up for, and no Metergrade credential to issue.
No SaaS telemetry upload
The check has no upload step. There is no path for your telemetry to take.
No hidden transfer
The kit is plain text you can read before you run it, and it makes no outbound call to Metergrade.

What you run

The Metergrade Setup Kit is plain text, KQL and a workbook definition. Read it before you run it. Hand it to the AI assistant you already use, or follow the steps yourself — every one of them is human-followable.

No installer, no daemon, no agent runtime, and no credential. The kit is versioned and carries a content digest you can verify.

UNATTRIBUTED
Observed AI spend with no accountable workload behind it.
RETRY WASTE
Measured spend consumed by repeated execution of the same work.

VALIDATION REQUIRED
An economic candidate worth testing before anything changes.

Want to keep the baseline and know what to resolve next?

Saving a baseline is a different mode from the check on this page. The check stays inside your Azure environment; a saved baseline requires you to send a supported evidence export to Metergrade, and that transfer is reviewed before it happens. See exactly what is transferred.

Metergrade Free saves the analysis to your organization, tracks what remains unresolved, and tells you the next thing worth resolving. You upload the export yourself, after signing in — that is the difference between this path and that one, and it is the only difference that matters.
